David L. 'Dave' Becker
SPENCERVILLE, Ohio, and CAVE CITY, Kentucky - David L. "Dave" Becker, 81, died 10:13 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow with his daughters at his side following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1937 in Spencerville, a son of the late Maurice and Vera Ruth Moorman Becker.
Surviving are his children, Wayne (Cheri) Becker, Avon Lake, Ohio, Jill (Tom) Ledergerber, Tecumseh, Michigan, Yvette (Jerry) Martello, of Lima, Ohio, and Tony (Chris) Bradley, Horse Cave; grandchildren, Drew (Mindi) Becker, Humble, Texas, Kyle Ledergerber, Dundee, Michigan, Syndi (Bill) Durivage, Akron, Ohio, Karlie Ledergerber, Wyoming, Michigan, Asia Woodard, Glasgow, Aaliyah Woodard, Horse Cave, and step-grandchild, Christopher (Brook) Martello, Lima, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Crosby Becker and Kamdyn Franklin; step-great-grandchildren, William Martello and Iasbella Martello; his siblings, Pat (Bill) Vermeer, Marietta, Georgia, Bobbi (Lee) Gayer, Brazelton, Georgia, Sharon County, Spencerville, Ohio, and Terri (Ed) Kraetschmer, Wapakoneta, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Randy Wienken, his brother, Roger Becker, and brother-in-law, Jerry Counts.
Dave was a 1955 graduate of Spencerville High School and retired as manager of the former Ohio Dec/Ken Dec Division in Horse Cave.
He enjoyed farming and was an avid OSU fan.
Private family services will 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial of his cremains will follow in Hartford Cemetery, northeast of Spencerville.
