Vernon Ray Cochran, 85, of Glasgow, died Monday, May 15, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Casey County, the son of Ephraim Wesley and Mary Geneva Clarkson Cochran.
Mr. Cochran was a bridge builder and a farmer and after retiring he and his wife operated a fruit and vegetable stand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Nell Denham Cochran; two sons, David Wesley Cochran and Darrell Lloyd Cochran; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Jonathon Cochran; one sister; and three brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Johnie Cochran and wife, Nancy and Jimmie Cochran and wife, Beth; and a daughter-in-law, Marcia Cochran, all of Glasgow; nine grandchildren: Desper (Teresa) Cochran, Bradley (Christina) Cochran, Daphne (Lee) Powell, Kyle (Amy) Cochran, Kevin (Fiancé Mekeleah) Cochran, Cassandra Cochran and Richard Young, all of Glasgow, Chantel Cochran, of West Virginia and Blake Cochran, of Crab Orchard; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Margie Rouse, of Kentland, Ind., Ilda Malone, of Lebanon, Geraldine Meiners, of Milford, Ohio and Nellie Rothwell, of Stanford.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in White Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday.
