Leon Franklin Turner, 91, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
He was born in Monroe County, the son of the late Arthur G. and Effie Thomas Turner. Leon was an auto mechanic and owner and operator of Turner's Garage for 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of South Green Street Church of Christ.
Leon is survived by his wife, Darlene; two sons, Jay Turner (Nancy), of Glasgow, and Jeremy Turner (Sandra), of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Allison Wallace (Britton), of Smithfield, Whitney Gries (Ben), of Louisville, Jacob Turner (Kristin), of Nashville, and Jonah Turner, of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Hudson Lee Wallace and John Benjamin Gries; one step-granddaughter, Krista Duckett; and one step-great-grandson, Gavin Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Alice Turner, six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday morning until time for the service.
