Inez Carter, 82, Glasgow, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Metcalfe Health Care Center.
A native of Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Lee Melton and Bonnie Mae Williams Melton.
She was a retired seamstress at Kentucky Pants and Carhartt, having worked for 39 years.
She attended Neal's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church; was a member of Amar Homemakers Club; and loved quilting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Oscar Lee Carter Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Coomer and husband, Michael, of Edmonton, and Pam Connolly and husband, Thad, of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Jarrod Tyler Connolly and Megan Connolly; one brother, Norman Melton of Dallas, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Lonnie Carter and Arden Cash, both of Burkesville; two sisters-in-law, Frances Carter, of Glasgow, and Minnie Bell Thurman, of Gas City, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
