Georgia Joyce Jessee, 83, of Glasgow passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at NHC Healthcare. A lifelong native of Barren County, Mrs. Jessee retired from T. J. Samson Home Healthcare where she worked as a Home Health Aide. She along with her husband, Fred Jessee Jr., owned and operated Jessee's Lawnmower Sales & Service. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Glasgow.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Jessee, Jr., her parents Herman and Ollie Bray Jones, an infant brother Kenneth Harold Jones and a sister Joan Shirley whose husband Lewis Wayne Shirley survives.
She is survived by seven children: Sheila Hunt (Sammy) of Glasgow, Bro. Ricky Proffitt (Max Helen) of Glasgow, Carrie Wininger (Joey) of Wasilla, AK, Cathy Ward (Johnny) of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer Cawthorn (Jeff) of Shelby, NC, Derek Proffitt (Nanellyn) of Owensboro and Joy Bunch (Steve) of Glasgow; two step-sons: Steve Jessee (Amelia) and Ricky Jessee, both of Glasgow; brothers and sisters, Gloria Shipley (Ralph), Janet Shelton (Bobby), Judy Nunn, Gary Jones (Julia) and Carroll Jones, all of Glasgow; 13 grandchildren, one step granddaughter, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4 at A. F. Crow Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday.
