Garnet Lee Allen, 87, of Park City, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
He was born in Merry Oaks, the son of the late Durward Lee Allen and Ruth Cowles Allen.
He worked for more than 21 years at Holly Carburetor in Bowling Green. He was a lifetime farmer and drove a school bus for the Barren County School System for 10 years and was a member of Merry Oaks Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Gary Allen (Wilma), of Smith Grove, J.D. Allen (Patty), of Glasgow, David Allen (Pat), of Smiths Grove, and Billy Allen (Enita), of Park City; two daughters, Shirley Reed (Danny), of Park City, and Sue Gentry (Roger), of Glasgow; 14 grandchildren: Kevin Allen (fiancée Kellie), Greg Allen (Kara), Mike Allen (Valarie), Tiffany Wyatt (Joseph), Jeff Reed (Melanie), Whitney Laurie (Dylan), Kimberly Campbell, Darel Allen (Claire), Trisha Johnson (Justin), Christopher Gentry, Tabitha Gruber (Bryan), Josh Allen (Brittany), Rachel Jolly (Tyler) and Scarlett Gossett (Jordan); 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Frances Perry; one brother, Bruce Gibson (Kathy); and one sister-in-law, Juanita Lawrence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charleen (Payne) Allen; a great-grandchild, Christopher Blake Gentry; and a daughter-in-law, Louise Minyard Allen.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Merry Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until time for services at the funeral home.
