Billy Copass, 66, of Fountain Run, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The Tompkinsville native was a farmer, co-owner of Copass-Johnson Electric, a member of Union No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church where he served as song leader, member of the Kentucky Hereford Association and Kentucky Cattlemen's Association.
He was a son of the late Winford Blaine Copass and Iva Mae Kingery Copass.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gumm Copass, Fountain Run; one son: Benjamin Copass and wife, Kaneia, Fountain Run; one daughter, Bretta Schalk and husband, Christopher, Fountain Run; one sister: Mildred Copass Isenberg and husband, Dashiell, Tompkinsville; one brother-in-law, Tony Gumm and wife, Huetta, Tompkinsville; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Copass, Tompkinsville; four grandchildren: Bethany Schalk, Mary Schalk, Zek Copass and Ariel Copass. Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Copass.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at Union No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Terry Dismon and Brother Jeremy England officiating and burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Goad Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday until funeral time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Billy Copass
Memorial Scholarship Fund for Vocational education. Donations may be made at Goad Funeral Home.
