William "Big Wood" Richardson, 74, of Barren County, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at his residence.
He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Tom Woods Richardson and Pearl Shaw Richardson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. He retired from Eaton Axle in Glasgow after 22 years and was a self-employed drywall installer. He was a member of Old Zion Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Richardson, of Smiths Grove; three sons, Chad Richardson (Jody), Jamie Richardson and Kevin Richardson, all of Glasgow; grandchildren, Dylan, Melanie, Taylor, A.J., Cassidy and Breanna Richardson, all of Glasgow; brother, Tom Woods Richardson (Juanita), of Taylorsville; sister, Lucy Crain, of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Jack Richardson; and two sisters, Joanne Ball and Kathryn Elliot.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time for services at 1 p.m. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter No. 20 of Glasgow.
