William Edward's Story

William Edward "Red" Chapman, 82, of Glasgow, passed away at home Wednesday, May 24, 2017, with his family around him.
He was a son of the late Obie Lee and Mamie Alice Decker Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Mae Clark Chapman; two sons, Charles "Buck" Chapman (Penny) and Roy Chapman (Janetta); four daughters: Kathy Carmicle (fiancé Michael Kinley), Brenda Smith (Tim), Donitta Tyler (John) and Mamie Flowers; 18 grandchildren; one special grandson: Jimmy Daugherty; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, David Chapman; two sisters, Betty Vibbert (Orval Jr.) and Annie Moock (Larry); and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James "Obie" Chapman; two brothers, Bobby Lee Chapman and Billy Joe Chapman; one grandson, Jason Lee York; three great-grandsons, Zachery, Dylan and Jaxon Payne; two great-granddaughters, Katie Mae Smith and Cheyanne Payne; and two sons-in-law, Glendell Carmicle and Leon Flowers.
Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday.
