Robert Thomas 'R.T.' Smith

Robert Thomas "R.T." Smith, 74, of Cave City, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, in Glasgow. He was born in Sulphur Well, in 1931 to Les and Birtha Smith. He loved the soil and was a prominent farmer who established the Smith Farms. Mr. Smith was a member of Little Barren Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir. He served as a church trustee and church treasurer for many years. He was an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife, Eva Lambirth Smith and their four children: Robbie Green of Bowling Green, Leslie Smith and wife Wanda of Glasgow, Nathaniel Smith and wife Earlene of Park City, and Robert M. Smith and wife Cheri of Bowling Green; two brothers: James Smith of Glasgow and Robert Louis Smith and wife Magdalene of Cave City. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Birtha smith; a sister, Ruth Alexander; three brothers, Eugene Smith, Awood Smith, and John Smith. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Little Barren Baptist Church, Sulphur Well. Friends may call at Watts Funeral Home Friday, from 3 until 8 p.m.
