Ricky A Furlong
Ricky A. Furlong, 66, died in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was the son of Porter and Gertrude Furlong. He is survived by wife Ellen; daughter Joanna; step-son Fraser; three brothers, four sisters, nieces, nephews, many cousins, aunts, and one uncle.
He retired from the U.S. Navy and from Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Florida as vet technician. He was an avid fisherman and his hobbies were tying fishing flies and taxidermy. He believed that kindness toward the environment and others made the world a better place. He was a generous, gentle person. The world is certainly better for him having been in it. He will be terribly missed by all family and friends including his best "FUR-friends", Danny and Jenny.
For eternal rest, Ricky chose cremation and burial at sea. And a memorial CD is available for close family that were not able to attend the memorial luncheon on May 14, 2021. A plaque will be installed in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery at a later date. Condolences can be expressed by donations to a local animal shelter/BRAWA.
Thanks to everyone for your loving prayers that kept him going for so long. I Cor. 13:8. "Love never fails".

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
