Ora Ethel Collier, 84, of Owensboro died Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Ky. on March 3, 1933 to the late William Bullock and Artie Mae Taylor Bullock. Ora was a member of First Baptist Church in Owensboro and was a homemaker. She had an unwavering faith and love for Jesus that she showed every day for those around her. Even through her deteriorating health, her goal was to make sure every person knew the Savior that she loved. Whether a lifelong friend or new acquaintance, she touched their lives in many ways. Her physical life is no more, but her eternal life has begun. The memories, love and values she knew will live on through all of us because of the way she lived.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ray Collier, on Aug. 26, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Tom Collier and his wife, Cynthia, of Owensboro; daughters, Vicki Hoesli and her husband, Mike, of Owensboro, and Lois Jarboe of Owensboro; grandchildren, Chris (Denise) Jarboe, Adam (Amy) Jarboe, Matthew Collier, Elizabeth Collier, Tara (Parker) Timmons, Rachel (Chris) Smith, Natalie (Will) Simpson; great-grandchildren, Jacynda, Isabella, Danila, Milana and Axton Jarboe, and Rylee and Annalee Timmons; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Earlene Bullock of Somerset; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. EST in Somerset Cemetery in Somerset. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
