Martha Lee Hart Smith Hazel, 78, of Smiths Grove, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 6:46 p.m.
She was born in Fort Knox to the late Emmal Victor Hart and Bertha Lee Stroud Hart Harmon, and was the widow of the late Harold Bailey Hazel. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Carloyn Cutcomp. Mrs. Hazel worked at Holley Carburetor, Denny's and Bob Evans. She was a member of Hillvue Heights Church where she was a door greeter.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Adams, of Glasgow, Vicki Wright, of Glasgow; son, Darrell Smith Jr. (Rachel), of Smiths Grove; daughter, Ella June Smith Jones, of Georgia; stepdaughter, Vickie Darline Bryant (Kent); stepdaughter, Karen Johnette Roemer (Mike); stepson, William Stanley Hazel (Lisa); stepdaughter, Ladonna Ann Hazel, of Bowling Green; brother, Bill Hart (Faith); and sister, Linda Albaugh (Dan); grandchildren, Michelle Lee Adams, Bruce Adams, Jennifer Lynn Wilson, Staci LeAnn Montgomery, TJ Wright, Will Wright, Blake Harbison, Hunter Jones, Rachel Michelle Riley, Joshua Lee Smith, Amy Thomas, Samatha Wilson, Kyle Roemer, Dustin Roemer, MaKayla Meredith, Summer Moats and Kelsey Moats; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also her dog, Kandy.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
