Lillie's Story

Lillie Mae Sanders, 94, Glasgow, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence.
A native of Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Bernado and Blanche McGee Sanders. She was a domestic housekeeper and nanny, and was a member of Little Barren Baptist Church at Sulphur Well.
Survivors include three daughters, Hettie Sanders, of Glasgow, Mezetta Hunter, of Louisville and Sandra Douse, of Indianapolis; six grandchildren: Glenda Paulette Tooley, of Glasgow, Annetta Hunter, of Louisville, Nicole Hunter, of New York City, Jennifer Martin, of Indianapolis, Chris Douse of Fort Wayne and Fred Douse, of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren: Brandon Tooley, Gabrielle Beasley, C. J. Martin, Christian Hunter and Taylor Hunter; two great-great grandchildren, Chloe Tooley and Braxton Tooley; and her extended family, Mark Satterthwaite and his wife, Dr. Lauren Pachman, of Illinois, along with their children, Emily, of Toronto and Teddy, of Maryland, and Louise Becker and her daughter, Hope, of San Diego.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Blanche Sanders and Mary Louise Sanders.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Barren Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
