Larry Rex Birge, 59, of Summer Shade, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at his residence. Born Oct. 28, 1957, in Glasgow, he was a son of the late Elzy Rex Birge and Dixie Bradley Birge, who survives. He was a farmer. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one sister, Becky Birge, Summer Shade; two brothers, Tony (Raquel) Birge and James Birge, both of Summer Shade; two nieces, Emma and Maria; and several cousins. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Phil Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in White Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 2 until 8 p.m. and on Friday after 7 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. www.mcmurtreyfuneralhome.com

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
