James "Bob" Garrett, 83, of Glasgow, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, in Bowling Green. He was born in Nortonville, and was the son of the late Luther Robert Garrett and the late Bertie Bell Yonts Garrett. Bob was married to Patricia Rose Garrett, of Glasgow.
He was a cattle farmer, a mechanic and body shop manager for Crown Buick and a member of Barren County Cattlemen's Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert William Garrett, of Chicago, Ill., Mark Allen Garrett (Alicia), of Manteno, Ill.; one grandson, Mitchell Garrett, of Chicago; one brother, Luther "Junior" Garrett (Carol), of Hickory Hills, Ill.; three sisters, Pauline Lufkin, of Idaho, Joyce Hendrix of Palos Hill, Ill., and Betty Wooten (Ray), of Park City; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Lorraine Madsen and Lois Wells.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Woodland Church Cemetery.
