Gwendolyn Foley, 65, of McDaniels, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017.
She was born in Louisville, on Oct. 7, 1951, the daughter of the late Joe Berry Emberton and Lola Joyce Martin. She was a retired cosmetologist and park attendant for the Army Corps of Engineers. Gwendolyn was a member of Faith Praise and Worship Center and enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, gardening and outdoor activities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph David Foley; and her sister, Kathy Atherton.
Survivors include her husband, David Lee Foley, of McDaniels; three children, Tammy Hembree (Casey), of McDaniels, Stacey Goben, of Leitchfield, and Joshua Foley (April), of Shepherdsville; one brother, Rick Emberton (Ann) of Hillview; six grandchildren: Brittney Wright (Nathan), Rachael, Chelsie and Nicolas Johnston, Alyssa and Alexis Foley; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, with funeral services at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
