Cecil's Story

Cecil Alene Brown, 88, of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, suddenly at her residence in Tompkinsville.
Cecil was born in Monroe County on May 31, 1928, daughter of the late Alta (Blythe) and Dewey Head.
Other than her parents and husband, Floyd Brown, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger Brown; sisters, Georgia Myatt and Betty Butler; and brothers, Tommy and Edward Head. She married Floyd Brown Dec. 17, 1947, who preceded her in death Sept. 3, 1992.
She was a kindergarten teacher's assistant, worked at William B. Harlin Library and at local garment factories. She was a member of Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.
Cecil is survived by two daughters, Sue, wife of Donald Frazier, of Glasgow and Patsy, wife of David Witty, of Glasgow; a son, George, husband of Judy Brown, of Tompkinsville; two sisters, Isa Richardson, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Eva Bryant, of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, Paul Head, of Tompkinsville, Jack Head, of Tompkinsville, and J.D. Head, of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville. Visitation is Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Center Point Cemetery Monroe County. Donations requested to St. Jude or Center Point Cemetery.
